How to apply Artificial Intelligence such as ChatGPT to rethink processes

Published 11 months ago • 2 min read

Hi Reader,

(I know it’s a real buzz topic right now but here are some real AI use cases for BPM which are worth reading, I promise!)

ChatGPT, write me a newsletter on the topic of how AI can support human-centric process management.

Dear readers,

Today’s newsletter is going to be an exploration into the topic of how AI can support human-centric business process management (BPM).

Here are a few ways how AI can help to make BPM more human-centric:

  1. Automating routine tasks: By automating repetitive tasks like data entry or email sending, employees have more time to focus on complex tasks. This reduces the likelihood of burnout and overload.
  2. Personalized task management: With the help of AI, the system can analyze an employee’s skills and strengths and assign tasks that align with their abilities and interests. This helps to keep employees engaged and motivated in their work.
  3. AI-based feedback: AI-based feedback can be used to assess an employee’s progress and provide them with specific recommendations for improvement. This can help employees enhance their skills and perform their work more effectively.
  4. Predicting bottlenecks: AI-based analysis can be used to predict potential bottlenecks in processes and take steps to avoid them. This ensures that employees are not faced with unforeseen difficulties and can perform their work more effectively.

As you can see, there are numerous ways AI can make BPM more human-centric. Of course, there are also challenges that companies must consider when implementing AI-based solutions. They must ensure that they adhere to ethical standards and ensure that employees feel comfortable and secure when working with AI-based systems.

Thank you for reading this newsletter, and I hope it has provided you with a deeper understanding of the potential of AI in human-centric BPM.

Best regards,

ChatGPT

→ This is not so bad at all - Obviously, there are some limitations in the knowledge base of ChatGPT with regards to the new Process Approach ;-)

Many of you will have already tried it yourself and maybe some of you are already using it in your daily doing. From writing newsletters to generating codes for a new website - ChatGPT (or other AI language models) can support.

But how can AI help with BPM? I discussed this in the new episode of New Process Podcast with Benjamin Dehant. Besides new insights on AI in general, we talked about what ideas to apply AI to processes will help us process guys in the future and how and where to learn more about the AI tools such as ChatGPT to rethink processes. Feel free to listen:

One of the most exciting things in my opinion is the idea of having a virtual co-pilot for employees but also for process owners and architects 👨🏼‍✈️

Check out the newest blogpost to the topic as well:

I'd like to dive deeper into this topic, specifically the extent to which Artificial Intelligence (AI) poses a threat to the human-centered approach. If you have any tips or suggestions, feel free to reach out. And of course for feedback to this episode.

Thank you very much for reading 🚀

Have a great day!

Hi Reader, Can you remember the last time you started a new project, turned a bright idea into reality or maybe even started your own business? If you're nodding yes, then you know the thrill of starting something new - and the mountain of to-do's that comes with it. One of the greatest challenges I've faced is the art of starting simple and progressing incrementally - the philosophy of the Minimum Viable Product (MVP). It still happens to me today that in my burst of motivation I want to do...

Hi Reader, Can you believe it's already November? Time does fly! 😳 I'd like to ask for a small favor that could make a big difference: As in the past two years, I've put together a brief survey to identify the BPM topics of 2024, and I'd love for you to participate.Because our community is such an important part of this journey, it is only logical that I collect your current thoughts and concerns:→ to get a better understanding of what BPM topics are important to you.→ to tailor the content...

Hi Reader, Expanding on the last newsletter, I'd like to stress the importance of interacting with other BPM enthusiasts. It's easy to recognize when someone is genuinely enthusiastic and deeply interested in a subject. In my opinion, this enthusiasm is what really drives us forward, especially in the research world. 🚀 Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of having meaningful conversations with a lot of passionate people. These discussions not only lead to fresh ideas and inspiration...
